From Dream to Reality: the History of the Instituto Medicina Em Foco
In the heart of the bustling São Paulo metropolis, a vision shared by idealizing minds emerges, transforming the medical experience into something beyond simple consultations and diagnoses.
Since they met, two young doctors, Dr. Rodrigo Barbosa and Dr. Adriana Marco Antônio , soon became friends, united by a common passion: medicine and caring for others.
So, amidst the chaos of modern life, a pioneering proposal for humanized care and treatment is born: the Instituto Medicina em Foco.
The project’s creators realized a gap in patient care, often done halfway, and the lack of an integrated care network. They also saw the need to improve communication, as information was lost, and the patient was harmed, since many prescribed treatments were conflicting due to the lack of dialogue.
In addition, both are involved with the treatment of diseases in groups that for many reasons were on the margins of the centralized views of medicine and society, such as obese patients, LGBTQ+ patients, amputees and those undergoing dialysis.
The story of the Instituto Medicina em Foco is about shared dreams. The Institute’s objective is to create an environment open to diversity, where everyone feels welcome, regardless of race, creed or sexual orientation and, more than that, regardless of their medical condition, so that everyone feels comfortable and supported.

Barriers
The countless barriers that life imposed to the realization of this dream were not enough to stop the dream of these two, who found in others who also had the same desire: To transform medicine in a unique way – with affection, care and respect – to create an environment where the patient feels “embraced”.
Dream
Thus, a dream shared by visionary minds was born: Dr. Rodrigo Barbosa, a digestive system surgeon; Dr. Adriana Marco Antônio, a vascular surgeon; the manager Allephy, and the fellow doctors Dr. Fábio Piovezan and Dr. Vanessa Prado.
Medicina Em Foco
Together, they imagined a place where medicine was not just a service, but a transformative experience, and from this dream, the Instituto Medicina em Foco took shape.
At the heart of the Institute is an elite team, characterized not only by their technical skills, but by their ability to smile in the face of difficulties, and to base our joys on the possibility of changing lives.
More than a Team, a Family
More than a team, a medical family composed of renowned surgeons and clinicians who collaborate in several reference hospitals in São Paulo, such as Hospital Sírio Libanês, Hospital Albert Einstein, Hospital 9 de Julho, Vila Nova Star, São Luiz Itaim and Morumbi, in addition to the Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz, all engaged in their areas, standing out in the most different areas of activity and care.

On this journey, we invite you to enter our world, where each consultation is a conversation, each diagnosis is an opportunity to care and each patient is part of our family.
Welcome to the Instituto Medicina em Foco, where medicine meets the humanized touch and healing is more than a treatment, it is a transformative experience.
Deciphering our Identity: the Symbolism behind the Logo
The Instituto Medicina em Foco logo is much more than just a symbol; it is a visual representation of our philosophy and commitment to humanized and patient-centered medicine, a visual manifestation that illustrates the pillars of work and values that we defend.
The outer end (dark blue) represents the doctors, each from a different specialty, and the multidisciplinary team. They are united, arm in arm, forming a circle. Each element is a human being, all of the same color to represent equality, and around a central point.
Next, the inner end represents the centralization of care. All doctors and health professionals looking to the center.
The central point is the patient, who is at the heart of everything we do. Thus, each doctor represents a crucial piece of the health puzzle, and together they form a comprehensive and collaborative care network.

The arrangement of doctors around the patient is not just a visual representation; it symbolizes our dedication to looking beyond medical conditions and focusing on the real person, with their unique needs, desires and stories.
It is a constant reminder that each individual is unique and deserves personalized and respectful attention. Keeping the logo simple in terms of colors has a reason: for us, all people are equal.
Instituto Medicina Em Foco: Care that Transforms Lives
The Instituto Medicina em Foco is more than a clinic; it is a welcoming and modern environment, meticulously designed to create a familiar atmosphere. Plants, wood and pleasant aromas permeate the space, providing a feeling of being at home to patients.
At the Instituto Medicina em Foco, everyone is welcome, regardless of origin or medical condition. Diversity is celebrated, and accessibility is prioritized.
The emphasis on prevention occupies a central place in the Institute. We place great importance on early identification and provide personalized tracking of genetic conditions, as we believe that an early diagnosis simplifies the treatment process. This conviction is even more crucial at a time when every moment is valuable.
In addition, the Institute is a place of constant innovation. Processes have been automated to save time, providing a smooth experience for both doctors and patients. The doctor-patient relationship is sacred here, being valued and respected.
